A perfect copilot for RV owners and truckers
A reviewer for one of Kenwood's previous "RV" receivers stated that his model had everything he needed, but "the screen could be a little bigger." Kenwood must've been listening. Their DNR1008RVS receiver offers a big 10.1" "floating" capacitive touchscreen display to provide a big command centre for your big vehicle. And with built-in Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, and Garmin navigation, you'll have all your handy infotainment features front and centre on a brilliant high-definition display.
Check your dash!
Important Note — The entire screen measures 10.313" x 7.125". Before ordering, check for possible interference with your dash, your shifter, and all other controls.
Let Garmin show you the way
Looking for navigation that won't eat up your data plan or rely on ample cell signal reception? This receiver's built-in Garmin navigation works on its own to cover routes in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. In addition to its handy 3D Terrain View to show off landscape contours on the big-screen display, you can enter your RV or truck parameters, such as vehicle weight, length, and width. The software remembers these numbers to plot the best routes for your journey — no more worrying about low bridge clearances. You can even search for specific destinations for your large vehicle, such as truck stops and RV parks.
For anxious passengers wondering "are we there yet?", you can show off the navigation info on a second monitor for them to see. Kenwood also includes three years of free Garmin Map Care, so your routes will be up to date.
Use a phone interface you know
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto let this stereo's controls behave like your phone's interface, so there's no learning curve. Plug in or wirelessly link your Android™ or iPhone®, and you'll get voice control access to your phone calls, weather, text messages, and of course all your music. Get more info at www.apple.com/ios/carplay and www.android.com/auto.
Android owners, you can mirror your phone's screen wirelessly using Miracast and the receiver's built-in Wi-Fi. This receiver's HDMI input also lets you mirror the screen from select phones by using a compatible HDMI adapter for your phone (sold separately).
Navigation and Android Auto note: Android Auto has disabled all navigation apps on this receiver. The built-in Garmin navigation is the most accurate way to represent a vehicle's length, width, and height profile for the best routing available
Music galore
In addition to this receiver's music-streaming capabilities, its rear USB input can make audiophiles happy — this receiver supports high-res file playback of music stored on a USB drive. When you don't have map updates loaded, you can also use this receiver's SD card input for digital music too. And if you're looking for radio stations that won't fade away, add a SiriusXM tuner (not included) to this Kenwood to enjoy satellite radio's extensive programming wherever you may roam.
You can also access video files from USB and SD drives to display on the big screen when you're parked.
Bluetooth for everyone in the car
The DNR1008RVS lets you pair two Bluetooth-equipped phones and quickly switch between them for hands-free calling — an excellent road trip convenience. And when you're streaming music, Kenwood's Music Mix lets you pair five phones so everybody can pick their tunes for an on-the-fly listening session.
Add an HD backup cam and three more
Vehicle cameras are a must for safer driving, and Kenwood gives you three video inputs, including one for Kenwood's CMOS-740HD high-definition backup camera. Kenwood also provides a proprietary input for the DRV-N520 dash cam. And if you need one more, you can configure this receiver's composite RCA video input as a fourth camera input.
Kenwood didn't forget the tone controls
If you're a big-time system builder, you'll appreciate how the DNR1008RVS includes three pairs of 4-volt RCA preamp outputs for an ultra-clean signal when you add amplifiers to your system. And if you're building a 3-way system, this receiver gives you that next-level crossover capability.
You'll also dig Kenwood's suite of sound-crafting tools, including a 13-band parametric equalizer, handy preset settings, and built-in digital time alignment. The receiver's processing power brings back the depth and detail of all your digital music sources. If your speakers are located down low in the doors, this receiver offers Stage EQ, which adjusts your music's frequencies to virtually "raise" your speakers for better-sounding, more natural imaging.
iDatalink Maestro lets you keep your factory extras
Combined with an iDatalink Maestro RR or RR2 interface (sold separately), the DNR1008RVS includes intuitive vehicle integration that lets you keep factory features that you'd otherwise lose when you install a new radio. Once you've identified your vehicle, you'll see the iDatalink module offered on the way to the Shopping Cart if it's compatible.
Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities.
You'll need a wired connection to your parking brake to access settings and other features on this receiver. Your parking brake must be connected and set in order to view video on its screen.
